Christmas Gifts for Children in Foster Care
DONATIONS DUE BY December 7th
Cumberland County DSS is caring for more than six hundred children who’ve been removed from their homes for reasons none of them chose. The holidays can be a hard time for these boys and girls, and we’ve been asked to help make their season a little brighter.
Cross Creek is collecting Christmas gifts to bless these childeren this holiday season.
Every bit of it goes directly to foster children in our county.
Be Encouraged to Give:
“He executes justice for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the sojourner, giving him food and clothing.” – Deut. 10:18
“Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.” – James 1:27
John Calvin states in his commentary on James 1:27 “To visit in necessity is to extend a helping hand to alleviate such as are in distress.”
Taken together, they remind us why this simple act of giving during this season matters.
